Clydebank re-built
Helped to deliver another Design Forum for the regeneration company. Looking at issues concerning Clydebank’s Town Centre and the banks of the Canal, conference delegates enjoyed barge trips as part of the consultation.

Lord Provost’s Pageant 2006
Once again, we co-ordinated and produced this prestigious civic event. The theme this year celebrated the ‘Treasures of Kelvingrove’ to coincide with the re-opening of Glasgow’s favourite museum. 500 participants walked from George Square to Glasgow Green where they joined the popular Glasgow Show.

The BAFTA Scotland Interview
Assisted the BAFTA Scotland Team in the delivery of this prestigious Edinburgh International Film Festival event. After an exclusive screening and interview, Sir Sean was presented with the BAFTA Scotland Award for Outstanding Achievement in Film, before joining friends and industry colleagues at the Point Hotel to celebrate his birthday.

Clydebank Re-built
Assisted with the organisation of Clydebank Re-built’s 8th Design Forum. This event provides an opportunity for funders, partner organisations and interested individuals to check on the progress of the town’s re-generation plans. The conference had a ‘valentines’ theme, when visitors were ‘speed updated’ on the projects underway

Provided Event Support for this two-day conference, which looked at the impact of Art on Landscapes, following NVA’s ‘Old Man of Storr’ Event on the Isle of Skye in 2005.

BAFTA Scotland Awards Ceremony
Our third year assisting with the planning and backstage production of this annual event, helping organise everything from style needs to cars and red carpet arrival. Once again, this annual event was a great night for Scotland, with some of the best known faces of Scottish film and television in attendance.

Special Olympics Opening Ceremony 2005
In July, Glasgow played host to the seventh Special Olympics, the UK’s biggest sporting event of 2005. The games started with a spectacular opening ceremony and Oyster Arts were responsible for floor managing this element, co-ordinating everything from the lighting of the Olympic flame, performances and Olympic torch runners to the 3,000 strong athletes parade. It was the first time the event had been staged in Scotland so it was all hands on deck to allow the games to get off to a sensational start.

Lord Provost’s Pageant 2005
In 2005, the annual Lord Provost’s Parade was re-launched as a walking pageant. Celebrating 400 years of the Trades and Merchants in Glasgow it was led by Glasgow’s Lord Provost, Liz Cameron who joined in the fun and was dressed in period costume. Over 500 children joined representatives from the Trades and Merchants Houses who dressed up and took part in this colourful, historical and fun day. After months of workshops and planning, the sun shone on this prestigious civic event which was followed by music in George Square as well as the unveiling of the ‘Glasgow Bouquet’ sculpture.

Flower of the West
Event managed this unique Scottish celebration focusing on the work of Calum
and Rory MacDonald. This sell out show paid tribute to the words of the
Runrig brothers, through film, poetry and visual art. The brainchild of An
Lochran, Glasgow's Gaelic Arts organisation, the event included high calibre
artists such as, Phil Cunningham. Karen Matheson, Donald Shaw, Cathy Ann
McPhee, Mairi MacInnes and members of Blazin Fiddles. An incredible
evening, which took the audience on a remarkable journey from North Uist's
Clachan Sands, around the world and back.

Atlantic Arc Seminar
Glasgow, January 2005

Organised and managed a two day conference on behalf of Glasgow City Council, examining ‘Celtic Links & Cultural Diversity’. Delegates were drawn from the member cities of the Atlantic Arc Network, which include; Rennes, Nantes, Santiago de Compostela, Aviles, Gijon, Asturias, Faro and Cork. Chaired by broadcaster Janice Forsyth, the morning presentations were followed by delegate visits across the city, taking in tours performances and exhibitions.

Provided behind the scenes production at the annual Film & Television Awards. From cars, make-up & hair to red carpet arrival, we assisted the team in the smooth running of what was an amazing star studded night for Scotland.


 

HEACS Conference
Glasgow, September 2004

Organised all aspects of the first national conference for the Historic Environment Advisory Council for Scotland. Staged in Glasgow City Chambers, speakers included Ruth Wishart, Professor Chris Smout, John Graham and Murray Grigor, whose presentations focussed on the title ‘Exploring the Boundaries – What do we mean by the historic environment today?



The Lord Provost’s Procession
Glasgow, June 2004

Working closely with Glasgow City Council, we organised this prestigious civic event for the first time. The procession had just over 850 participants who joined together to celebrate ’10 Years of Freedom in South Africa’. The noisy and colourful spectacle made its way through the city centre and culminated in an open air party in George Square, with on-stage entertainment all afternoon. Spirits were high despite the weather!

Accession Day
Edinburgh, May 2004

Produced and delivered the only event in Scotland to celebrate the ten new member states joining the European Union. The celebrations, which took place in the Ross Theatre Bandstand in Princes Street Gardens included performances from across Europe and was attended by over 5,000 people.

Clydebank: Beyond the Yards, Conference
Clydebank, October 2003

Organised and co-ordinated the first annual conference for Clydebank re-built, the urban regeneration company. Hosted by Scottish television’s Bryan Burnett the speakers included a keynote address from Alf Young, Policy Editor of the Herald. The event was attended by more than 300 people.

Organised the production of a one day conference for Creative Therapies. This was the first arts therapies conference of its kind in Scotland.


NVA organisation
September-November 2001
Researched trust funds and grant giving bodies for nva organisation's Hidden Gardens project. Since receiving funds, this exciting project has gone on site at Glasgow's Tramway and opened to the public on 20th June 2003.
